  • Skin Consultation

Skin consultations are possible both in-person and on-line.  Please state preference at time of booking.

In-person will allow me to feel the skin and test reactiveness but both are organised to ensure you get the best advice and a plan to move forward, if possible, with helping you get the skin results you want.

  • What is the 1st Treatment?

Your first visit will begin with a skin consultation to analyse your skin and determine the needs of your skin.

We will discuss the history of your skin and  look at possible causes of your skin issues.

After a cleanse and closer look at your skin, we can work out an individualised treatment based on your skins needs.

We will only set you realistic goals and expectations. If we feel your present skincare or lifestyle could be the cause of your concerns, we will make you aware of this.

It is all about informed choice.

If we feel your current home care is detrimental to your skin, we may ask you to stop using them.

  • What skin issues can you help with?

From youngsters with early signs of increased sebum to elderly with wrinkles they would like to minimise.

  • What happens in your Facial Treatments

All of my Facials are bespoke based on what the client would like or concerns they would like focused on.

All facials will begin with a cleanse and skin analysis.

    After that I may continue with any of the following to address the concerns raised;

Cleanse , Enzyme, Mask, Serums, LED, Microcurrent, Facial Massage, Gua Sha, Facial Cupping or even some Face Yoga exercises.

No two Facials are alike just as no two faces are alike.

LED is a relaxing treatment, just lay back and pretend you are at the beach.

    It is an effective treatment for;

Helping with Winter Blues ( those effected by SAD)

Teenage Skin Issues  - to reduce redness and bacterial levels on the skin

  • What skin products do you use.

I use and sell Dermaviduals, an international company with the only salon-only skin product based on Corneotherapy and approved by The Institute of Approved Corneotherapy.

Corneotherapy is aimed at repairing the skins most outer layer, the stratum corneum and, above all, at improving the barrier function and subsequently the health and balance of the entire skin. "Heal the outer layer and the skin can heal the rest"

Products during treatments are selected based on the skins needs. Serums can be used which help to hydrate, reduce wrinkles, remove redness from sensitivity or rosacia and much more.

All products are available to purchase in varing quantities to continue you skin treatment at home.

  • What is Corneotherapy

Corneotherapy is a skin treatment approach that focuses on repairing and maintaining the skin's natural barrier function. Dermaviduals, as I mentioned previously, is a product line formulated based on the principles of Corneotherapy. The emphasis on avoiding harmful emulsifiers, irritating perfumes, and preservatives makes it suitable for sensitive, reactive skin types.

The idea of formulating products to mimic the skin's structure is in line with the principles of corneotherapy, aiming to enhance the skin's ability to recognize and absorb the applied substances. By supporting and strengthening the skin's lipid bilayers, Dermaviduals may contribute to overall skin health and function.

It's important to note that personalised skincare routines and products tailored to individual skin needs are key components of corneotherapy. As a trained corneotherapist, I understand the importance of assessing each individual's skin condition and developing a targeted approach to address specific concerns.

If you have any questions or if there's anything specific you'd like to know or discuss regarding Corneotherapy or Dermaviduals, feel free to let me know!

  • I can't afford Product and a Treatment, which is best to do?

Many people are either time poor or purse poor, especially these days.

I will work with you to find a solution to help you improve your skin within your ability to manage.

As a rule, we would always say the daily product is far more important than the treatment.  For some clients, who like to come every regularly,  I suggest they skip a treatment to afford a product purchase when needed.

  • When Will I See Results?

Many people see results after one Facial but this will not last without a supporting home skincare routine.

With Face Yoga, some results can be seen in as little as two weeks while others take much longer. The more disciplined you are the more results you will see. Face Yoga is not a quick fix. Result timings are as unique as each individual and the issue(s) they are tackling.

  • How Long Do Results Last?

Often  monthly Facial will begin showing lasting effects after about the fourth month provided the skincare program is adhered to at home as well.

For Face Yoga, Face Yoga is a way of life, like brushing your teeth.  Once you have the results you want you can reduce your routine. You will need to continue some exercise to maintain your healthy skin, just like with your body. Otherwise, you will see the aging signs return.

  • What age range do you serve?

I can help any age from pre-teens upto those in their Golden years.  There is no age limit*.

    * 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent.

  • I hear Face Yoga causes wrinkles

Face Yoga only causes wrinkles if it is done incorrectly, that is why having an approved instructor ensures your use of poses is correct and is vital to getting the results you want.

  • What can I expect from a Face Yoga Session?

Sessions can be on-line or in person.  Wear comfortable cloths so your arm movements are unrestricted.  The format is relaxed and paced to the clients need.

We will discuss what you would like to change and work through a plan to help you achieve that, if it is possible.

I may introduce other techniques to aid you in your journey.  Each session will include  relaxation for the mind/body, releasing of tension in muscles and strengthening muscles as appropriate as well as a cool down at the end.

  • How Can I Do The Practice If I am Busy?

I love this question because it was what I asked myself when I started!  Once I learned the poses I was able to spread them across free moments like lying in bed an extra 2 minutes to wake up my face, while I made packed lunches even when driving.  Not all exercises use hands so you can multi-task with Face Yoga.

  • How does Face Yoga work?

The process is a simple formula of relaxation, analysis and strengthen, much like going to the gym for your body.

As the blood flow is increased and the muscles are awakened and strengthened, so your Face will take on a more youthful look.

  • How long before I see the results?

Results can be seen in as little as two weeks. Depending on the issue, it could take months.

Face Yoga is not a quick fix.  It is a holistic way to a more beautiful you and results are often down to the effort that is put in.

  • Why would I choose to do Face Yoga?

Practicing Face Yoga can be used to clear the skin, improve muscle tone, remove sagging or drooping areas, it can tighten the neck, reduce or prevent headaches and sinus pressure. Because we work on relaxation clients report a drop in blood pressure and an overall better sense of wellbeing. Face Yoga also reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves Collagen, improves blood circulation, the list goes on…

  • Can Face Yoga cause physical issues

During a Face Yoga session we focus on how the body feels.  We relax areas we work on before working on the muscles to ensure injury is not sustained.  If you have any concerns, check with your doctor before you start.

  • Does Face Yoga Make your Face Bigger?

Face Yoga can be used to slim a face or round a face depending on the exercises used and the result you are trying to achieve.

  • Do I need special equipment for Face Yoga?

All you need is your face and a mirror.

  • Will Face Yoga Method Work For Me?

Face Yoga will work at any age.  Younger people benefit from increase blood flow and therefore less acne when paired with a good skin care routine. As you get older Face Yoga helps prevent droopy eyes, furrowed brows and saggy cheeks.  Once you reach the age where you notice your skin elasticity is not as good, more creases are appearing and eye brows and necks are sagging, Face Yoga can reduce and even reverse many of these signs.

  • How Often Do You Have To Practice?

With The Face Yoga Method we recommend twice a day.  Best times are when you first wake-up to wake-up your face and release any night tension. Then again, last thing at night to relax again before bed.  I link most of mine to these times or when I am brushing my teeth.

  • Can Face Yoga help with Facial Symmetry

Face Yoga Method is a 100% natural approach to restoring facial symmetry while tightening and toning the facial muscles.

  • What is Gua Sha?

Gua = to scrape or rub

Sha = reddish rash (petechiae) which is the release of blood stagnation, or toxic energy, with the flow of blood to the surface of the skin

Based on Traditional Chinese medicine, Gua Sha  is type of massage performed with a tool to manipulate and stimulate specific energy lines and points along the face and body.  This helps break up blood stagnation, free toxic accumulation, promote lymphatic drainage and increase the life force energy that runs throughout our body.

The specialised techniques enable the renewal of the lymph, activate circulation, minimize the appearance of wrinkles, and stimulate cell activity and the regeneration of the facial tissue for long-term results.

This is a lovely relaxing technique you can use in your own time to promote your wellbeing.

  • What is Facial Cupping

Facial Cupping is rooted in ancient healing traditions

A good Facial Cupping routine relaxes the muscles in your face, improves blood flow, boosts collagen production and stimulates your lymphatic system.

    How does it work?

When squeezing the Facial Cup onto an area of the  face, a gentle suction is created. This draws blood flow towards the surface of the skin. The increased blood flow in the skin underneath the cup and surrounding tissues encourages the formation of new blood vessels. The suction also creates a controlled mini-trauma in the skin (in the same way as micro-needling and derma-rollers would), which prompts a natural healing process in the skin. More oxygenated blood flows to the area, collagen and fibroblast production is stimulated, and the skin cells are encouraged to reproduce.

This results in the skin feeling and looking more plump, healthy and glowing.
